Two Citation Facilities Receive Safety Recognition

Birmingham, AL, June 11, 2004 - Citation Corporation ("Citation") announced today that two of its manufacturing facilities have received special recognition for their superior performance in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment. The Business Council of Alabama (BCA) recognized Citation's Brewton and Marion, Alabama foundries for their excellent record at a luncheon and awards ceremony held earlier today.

Citation's Brewton, Alabama facility received the BCA Chairman's award in recognition of having worked over 3,000,000 man-hours without a lost time injury, as well as a Commendation for having the second greatest reduction of injury and illness rates among companies of its size in 2003. The Marion, Alabama plant received the BCA Excellence Award for going over three years without a lost time injury.

In commending the employees of both facilities on their achievement, Citation President Ed Buker pointed out that employee safety was of paramount concern to everyone at Citation. "Safety is my responsibility, it is the Plant Manager's responsibility, and it is the responsibility of every employee in our company", said Buker. "It takes a total team effort to reach these milestones, and we are all extremely proud of these folks for these awards, but even prouder that they can go home to their families every night in as good a shape as when they left for work in the morning."
