Bob Simcox Named as Citation Group VP - Forging Group

Birmingham, AL, September 8, 2004 - Citation Corporation ("Citation") announced today that it has named Robert C. (Bob) Simcox as the Group Vice President of its Forging Group. Simcox will be headquartered at Citation's Navasota, Texas forging facility.

Simcox came to Citation in October, 2002, as Group Vice President of its Light Metals & Machining Group and did a superior job of improving quality, operations, systems management, and customer relations. Prior to joining Citation, he had over twenty years of senior-level, multi-plant management experience including stints at Honda and Midwest Stamping of Ohio. At Honda of America, Bob was Plant Manager from 1990 through 1994, where he was responsible for directing all manufacturing operations at the largest auto production facility under one roof in the U.S. Later, as Senior Vice President of Manufacturing, Bob was responsible for the manufacturing and related operational functions of four of Honda's U.S. plants. Later at Midwest Stamping he was Director of Operations for the corporation. He has been instrumental in successful plant start-ups, innovative quality improvement systems, cost reduction programs, strategic business planning and other initiatives that improved company profitability.
