Citation Corp. Names Louis Lavorata
Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Novi, Mich., November 5, 2008 – Citation Corporation announced today it has named Louis Lavorata senior vice president and chief financial officer (CFO) effective Nov. 10, 2008. Lavorata will be located at the company’s Novi, Mich., headquarters and will report to the chief executive officer.
As CFO, Lavorata will support Citation’s executive leadership team in the development and implementation of Citation’s strategies and business plan. He will also be responsible for managing the Finance, Accounting, Tax and Treasury functions and the development of financial strategies and policies, as well as financial reporting requirements to the board of directors.
Lavorata replaces Robert Sawyer who left the company in September to pursue other professional opportunities.
“Lou is an excellent addition to our team with his diverse background and extensive experience in finance and operations,” said Citation’s CEO Doug Grimm. “He will further strengthen our management team as we continue to diversify our customer base and the industries we serve.”
Prior to joining Citation, Lavorata was CFO of LD Holdings, Inc., a privately held distributor of commercial and industrial petroleum products. Earlier, he held dual responsibilities as COO/CFO of Metal Spinners, Inc. (MSI), president/CFO of Fendrich Industries, Inc., and CFO/COO of GenMet Company for nine years – a division of publicly held Park-Ohio Holdings. Prior to GenMet Company, Lavorata worked at Ernst & Young – Entrepreneurial Services Group as an auditor and small business consultant for two years. He began his career as a productivity improvement manager at General Motors Corp.’s Lordstown, Ohio, facility.
Lavorata earned a bachelor of science degree in Business Administration from West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV, and a Master of Business Administration from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.
