Citation Corp. Participates in “The Engine of Democracy” Trip to Washington, D.C. in Support of Auto Bridge Loans

Novi, Mich., December 4, 2008 - Citation Corporation today announced an executive from its Bessemer, Ala., facility will participate in The Engine of Democracy trip to Washington, D.C., an initiative that brings together representatives from 50 states and the District of Columbia to show support for federal bridge loans to General Motors Corp., Ford Motor Co., and Chrysler LLC.

Chuck Glasgow, director of Business Development, and a Citation employee of more than 15 years, was selected by The Engine of Democracy coalition to represent the state of Alabama. On December 5, he and other state representatives will discuss how the companies they work for are affected by the automakers’ success or failure.

“As a components supplier to the automotive market, it is important for Citation to play an integral role at this critical time in the industry,” said Citation’s CEO Doug Grimm. “We support the automakers’ coalition in its efforts to secure federal bridge loans that will help fund new product development and stimulate sales during these unprecedented economic times. In addition, we support the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association’s (MEMA) position that any program funded through the federal government should guarantee that suppliers’ receivables continue to be paid to ensure sufficient working capital for the nation’s largest manufacturing sector.”

During the press conference on Capitol Hill, each participant will wear a red, white and blue sport jersey that will include an emblazonment of key facts about the automotive industry’s impact on their respective state.

The Engine of Democracy, an informal, self-funded coalition of organizations representing more than 6 million jobs related to the American automotive industry, is spearheaded by suppliers and dealers in all states, with the effort to show the massive, nationwide support for the federal bridge loans the automakers need to help ensure the national security of the United States, the continuation of a robust automotive manufacturing base and the economic well-being of the nation and its citizens.
