Five Citation Corp. Facilities Achieve Outstanding Safety Records
Novi, Mich., January 6, 2009 - Citation Corporation announced today its facilities located in Albion, Ind., Marion and Selma, Ala., Lowell, Mich., and Oconomowoc, Wisc., have achieved no DART incidents, which refers to Days Away, Restricted, or Transferred, a term used by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) that represents injuries severe enough to warrant days away, restrictions and transfers.
“To date, these five plants have achieved one to three years with no DART incidents,” said Bill Goodin, Citation’s vice president, Human Resources. “Safety remains one of our top priorities at Citation and I’d like to acknowledge employees at these facilities for being diligent in helping us maintain these outstanding safety records.”
In addition, Citation’s FY2008 Incidence Rates, (IR) or the number of recordable injuries and illnesses, at these facilities falls below the national average of 13.6 for iron foundries and 6.1 for machining facilities.
Iron foundries:
- Marion – FY2008 IR was 1.12; more than two years without a DART incident
- Selma – FY2008 IR was 3.38; more than two years without a DART incident
Machining facilities:
- Albion – FY2008 IR was 0.0; nearly three years without a DART incident
- Lowell – FY2008 IR was 2.0; more than two years without a DART incident
- Oconomowoc – FY2008 IR was 1.86; more than one year without a DART incident
